The sports organization that brings together Central America and the Caribbean is committed to applying cutting-edge technology to sports.
Centro Caribe Sports, the sport’s governing body of Central America and the Caribbean, and the multinational Bornan Sports Technology signed a multi-year collaboration agreement to deliver cutting-edge technology to the sporting events organized by CCS.
The objective of the agreement is to bring to the region the latest advances in the area of sports information technology and provide comprehensive solutions for the delivery of major sporting events, from their organization, management, and production to the broadcasting of results and television images in real time.
Bornan Sports Technology, based in Switzerland, is a leading company in the sports technology and digital transformation market. The parties have joined forces to provide maximum exposure of the performances of the athletes during the next Centro Caribe Sports events, especially the Central American and Caribbean Games.
Eva Maria Cordoba, CEO and founder of Bornan Sports Technology, highlighted that “The signing of this agreement implies the union of a company and its team, with more than 20 years of experience working on world-class sporting events, with the experience in sports management of the leadership of Centro Caribe Sports. We share a common goal, to raise to a level of excellence the events of such a prestigious organization which is what the athletes, fans and sports leaders of the region fully deserve”. Cordoba has emphasized that “the signing of this agreement signifies the union of a company and its team, with over 20 years of experience working on world-class sporting events, and the sports management expertise of Centro Caribe Sports leadership, with a common goal: to elevate the events of such a prestigious organization to a level of excellence worthy of the region, its athletes, fans, and sports leaders.”
Meanwhile, Luis Mejía Oviedo, President of Centro Caribe Sports and a member of the International Olympic Committee, stated that “this agreement aligns with our commitment to modernizing our organization to meet the demands of the times, allowing us to provide the best possible technological service at each of our events.”
Under this agreement, among other aspects, Bornan ST will be the company responsible for the upcoming editions of the Central American and Caribbean Games and the Central American and Caribbean Beach Games, including projects related to timing, scoring, TV graphics, mobile applications, real-time results dissemination platforms, event management systems, and other key components for managing results at multi-sport events.
Regarding the challenges and expectations of this partnership, Ariel Valdés, Director of Operations at Bornan ST, stated:

It represents a new way of presenting the results of sporting events and showcasing the efforts of the region’s athletes, helping them shine at competitions. A major challenge for Bornan ST will be capturing the attention of young people in the region regarding sports and the participation of their idols in these competitions, but together with the members of Centro Caribe Sports, we will achieve it.”
Bornan ST enters this project with the credentials of having been the designated company for delivering results technology at previous major events such as:
- The ANOC World Beach Games, Qatar 2019 (Association of National Olympic Committees).
- The 1st African Beach Games, Sal 2019,
- The Mediterranean Games, Tarragona 2018.
Centro Caribe Sports will host: - The 1st Central American and Caribbean Beach Games in Santa Marta, Colombia, in 2022,
- The XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, El Salvador, in 2023,
- The XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in 2026, with Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as the sole candidate city.
The sports organization has also announced the launch of a new regional games project dedicated to young athletes in junior categories.
